STRONG. BALANCED. SUPPLE.

Performance Bodywork

Home: Welcome

MEET JENNIFER

Jennifer Bodnar EEBW, is a lifelong horsewoman with a background in ranching and performance horses.  Her goal as an equine bodyworker is to help you create a balanced horse, because a balanced horse can move with lightness.  True lightness is not just responsiveness to the aids, but the body moving in harmony with the least amount of effort to perform a given maneuver.  To achieve that the musculoskeletal system needs to be working synergistically.  A balanced horse is better protected from injury, achieves better performance, will enjoy a longer career, and is a happier more willing partner.  She has a thorough knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics believing that in the absence of language it is the body that tells their story.  Jennifer uses a holistic approach understanding that nothing functions in isolation and is careful to asses the horse as a whole.  She utilizes techniques ranging from sports massage, joint mobilizations, stretching and activation techniques, and careful exercise plans.  Jennifer partners with the top veterinary and farrier teams in her area to help create lasting change in the horse.
Member of the International Equine Bodyworkers association and fully insured.

ENHANCED PERFORMANCE

To have a stong, and supple athlete all of your horses muscles need to be functioning in balance. Jennifer works to alleviate sore, tight muscles, and restore neuromuscular balance.

INCREASED RANGE OF MOTION

Improving your horses range of motion and efficiency in his stride will create less wear and tear on the joints, ligaments and tendons and lead to a longer performance life.

IMPROVED DISPOSITION

"Bad behaviors" and refusals are often a sign of discomfort. With their limited ability to tell us somethings wrong, changes in behavior are often the first sign.

SPEED UP RECOVERY TIME

Bodywork helps the healing process along by encouraging scar tissue to be laid down in a more functional pattern, as well as reducing the amount of scar tissue which can help restore elasticity and functional range of motion.

CORRECT MOVEMENT PATTERNS

Often muscles are over compensating for their weaker counterparts creating dysfunctional movement patterns, leaving the overcompensating muscles under tremendous strain. These imbalances can be corrected to restore proper balance and enhance your horses movement and tone.

HOOF PROBLEMS

Everything is connected.  Hooves are a mirror of the body and will grow in the manner they are being loaded. An imbalanced body cannot grow balanced feet.
